Level headed buckaroo preacher Texe Marrs takes a sober look at Christian Church TV and the strangeness it has become. It features the top dogs of tv soul saving, and brings up those inescapable little glitches in their true personalities like raging greed or smack busts. Also hypocrisy, and preaching the gospel backwards style. Blaring frauds they may be to us, but their malleable flocks are unable to see the obvious. Speaking of their malleable flocks, it's just astounding how far they can get these people to go. One of these guys gets the whole congregation babbling nonsense and keeps telling them to keep going, keep going as he paces back and forth across the raised stage, basking in his voluminous ego juices. Mr. Marrs is a very nice man with a lot of class. He simply asks the flocks to think about what they're doing. Yeah, that'll set them straight. Good try though. They're still down on their knees, barking like dogs. I swear it. That and lots more, you really gotta watch this and see it for yourself.

June 4, 1989. Tiananmen Square. If you saw the man who walked out in front of a line of oncoming tanks and brought them to a halt you'll never forget it. Our media broadcast it far and wide to the point that there are few who were around that day who wouldn't immediately recognize the words Tiananmen Square, or that famous picture of the man, now known as the Tank Man. If you weren't around then, or are just rusty on the details, this film will get you squared away nicely.

But that's not the whole reason this film is getting my highest recommendation, there is much more here. This is a film that was made to be seen between the lines and whether or not you do, you'll still be in receipt of the really important information presented here. The quality of the movie is very good, it's professionally done and on it's face would be considered a superb documentary.

Beyond the Tank Man however, the film delivers up the astounding current economic growth of China, glittering in wealth, and yet still struggling with dirt floor poverty. Something is going on here that must be seen as prophecy for the United States, only for us there won't be any of that glittering prosperity. But all is not well there, especially for the peasant farmers. The only way they can survive now is to take factory jobs far away from their homes and families. They must agree to be paid only once a year, and believe it or not, they often get stiffed, by their own government. 85,000 protests were waged in 2005, and there is something boiling that is going to explode.

Communist China controls it's populace down to where they sleep, and yet it is dancing wildly in it's new-found capitalism, and separating the rich from the poor at warp speed; and like the USA, is ignoring it's poor while dumping huge amounts of money into it's military powers and weapons. In the last third of the movie something really amazing plays out. At a very prestigious university several students are shown the infamous picture of the Tank Man and are asked what it is. The students have no idea. None whatsoever. This single example of government controlling the media is profound, and in fact may be the entire reason the film was made. If you get nothing else from the movie, get the part about people only knowing what their government wants them to know, even when the whole rest of the world is clued in. It's happening here, now; and that's made all the more frightening after witnessing the empty reactions of these students to an event our entire country can never forget.

Not tremendously graphic excepting a short scene near the beginning, it should be watchable for most, but definitely easier for those having an interest in the subject.
