Mad Cow 7/20/06  US Scales back testing for mad cow, we just don't need any stinkin' testing!
The USA was testing a measly 1000 cows a day. Now only 1% of the cows that make up those cheeseburgers you eat will be technically subject to FDA scrutiny.  110 cows out of, what is it, 30 MILLION. What's that, like .000026543%??  Why bother?  FDA says it's OKAY to let Americans die from food that gives them horrible brain diseases.  We don't like Americans much anyway. The president agrees apparently.  We PAY these people?? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060720/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/mad_cow_testing;_ylt=ApZ1ZAWuBQXQu8LyMT.HnpNa24cA;_ylu=X3oDMTA3czJjNGZoBHNlYwM3NTE-

MAD COW: 12/31/03  USDA Measures Don't Go Far Enough to Protect the American Public
This should get your attention.   Warning: Gross

Mad Cow:6/18/06  Nothing to worry about, sez Gov't.  A million Americans a year die of it.  Now the gov't is telling us that it comes from no where SPONTANEOUSLY and they're helpless to do anything about it. So, why bother screening the beef we eat when it's just too rascally to detect mad cow and prevent it from showing up on your kitchen table. They just can't do anything, and no, more testing will not help.  It's SPONTANEOUS, remember?
It comes "out of thin air".  Yes, that's a quote.    Scared yet?

Mad Cow 7/31/05  64 nations have a partial or total ban on our nasty american beef. The govt says all those countries are just being silly and ridiculous.  In fact, our untested beef is the best best best there is. Have some today!!

MAD COW 1/06/2005: Secretary of Agriculture Hand Chosen By Bush to Grease The Profit Gravy Train While Endangering Americans
Another bush picked mafi-ublican becomes the new head of mad cow covering up, er, agriculture secretary.  He's proven to be true to his word to "look at " mad cow testing in the US.  He looked at it, and he ended it.  Priority one he says, is to get that annual 3.2 Billion flowing back in from Japan.  What about the health risk to Americans?  What about it?!  F*ck 'em!  There's a sweeeeet pile of dough to be made and we don't like Americans much anyway.  Ah patriotism, how sweet it is.  Pure beef hot dog anyone?

MAD COW:  Jan 28 2004  1997 Nobel Prize winning scientist  says  pretending mad cow doesn't exist is a bad idea.
Some scientist guy is saying how scary it is to pretend we don't see no mad cows around here and points out how when you don't test, you don't find anything.  He claims that is NOT proof that there's no mad cow, he says not testing just means not looking.  Ridiculous. Beef jerky anyone?  Teriyaki or regular?
"If the U.S. tested every cow, as Japan does, he said, it would likely find 300 cattle or more with mad cow disease. Japan also has found cows with the disease that are younger than the age considered high risk for the illness."

MAD COW: April 28, 2006   Just following the money....
(Manhattan, Kan.) – R-CALF USA past president and Co-Founder, Leo McDonnell spoke in Gas City, Kan. and McPherson, Kan. recently. McDonnell spoke to a large group of cattle producers about trade, BSE, the 2007 Farm Bill and many other issues that are facing producers.

"Historically the U.S. was the global agriculture powerhouse in trade with a $29 billion trade surplus in the 1990s," McDonnell said. "Unfortunately, due to a failing US agriculture trade policy in 2005, according to the Department of Commerce we had a $4.5 billion agriculture trade deficit and it is predicted that in 2006 Agriculture Imports into the US will rise by 10%."

McDonnell also went on to say that of the $4.5 billion agriculture trade deficit in 2005, 75% of it can be attributed to the cattle and beef sector. "This means that you're loosing and you can feel it in your markets today," McDonnell said.

MAD COW: 12/26/03 - UPI: USDA refused to release mad cow records
EXCERPTS...
"According to United Press International, the Agriculture Department
refused to release its tests for mad cow during the past six months. UPI said USDA reported it has tested about 20,000 cows for the disease in 2002 and 2003, but has been unable to provide any documentation in support of this.

USDA officials told UPI as recently as Dec. 17 the agency was still searching for documentation of its mad cow testing results from 2002 and 2003. UPI initially requested the documents on July 10, and after repeated attempts over the past six months, including Freedom of Information Act requests and threatened legal action, USDA never sent any corresponding documents.
[don't they have any file cabinets at the fda? SIX MONTHS TO PULL DOCUMENTS???  NOT.]
"If any documents exist, they will be forwarded," USDA official Michael Marquis wrote in the letter, according to UPI."

MAD COW: 7/15/06  Beef Company Presses Lawsuit Against USDA to Allow Universal Testing for Mad Cow Disease
What legitimate reason could possibly exist for the FDA to block this rancher from voluntarily testing 100% of his beef?  They threatened him with the full force of the law and told him to back off.  What a crock.  Another in your face example of the govt's callous disregard for our lives.

Say....aren't mad cows terrorists?????
Is it here in the USA or not?  Our government says we don't have to worry, we're clean. Mad Cow
is everywhere else that people eat cows, but it's not here?  How could we be so lucky? They may
say all is well but where's the beef? Show us the data. There isn't any???  Well then, as usual #1:
Whenever there's a horrible situation and the government says not to worry, we know we'd better start
worrying.  As usual #2: They have no evidence to back their empty assurances. Exsqueeze me very much
but their word is not good enough. Totally Unacceptable!  And as usual #3: An abundance of credible
data, which is contrary to the official story, is readily available. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?  So, we've
brought some food for thought directly to YOU dear reader, so you can compare the cow cookies for
yourself. Then you can decide if you think there's nothing to worry about.
