Constitution Class by Michael Badnarik

Michael Badnarik is a Libertarian who knows the Constitution. He ran for president in 2004. Michael teaches a one day seminar on the Constitution. You can see it for free at archive.org. As unlikely as it sounds, this is a really interesting class. You have to have an understanding of your rights or one day no one will be around who knows what rights are. When that happens this country will not be free. The class is divided into 1 hour segments that anyone can handle. Try it, you'll really like it.
Is there "no value" that comes out of sickness, suffering and hardship? Could it be that those we tend to discard as worthless people live in an unfamiliar realm where they are encountering aspects of life that we know nothing about? Is there no common need for poets or painters? For those with insight and understanding that can aid mankind? Do we have no use for visionaries and problem solvers who can see things in new ways? Does it all, in fact, boil down to money?
Many people who don't have "jobs" work very hard. They simply don't get paid for what they do. Does that mean their hard work doesn't count? Do we believe that only work for pay is the definition of real "work"? Do we, as a society, believe that no effort has value unless there is a price attached?
This week I bring you an audio selection of great importance on the subject of money. It is time we all learned the truth about money, what it is, where it comes from, who controls it and where we fit in to this economic equation. This piece was broadcast on Sunday, Feb. 25th, 2007 on Unwelcome Guests. In the opening section the host gives a commentary to introduce the speaker who is an insider in the world of finance. What she has to say will probably change your mind entirely about money and show you what an unfair, corrupt system it is that we all live under.
My request to everyone out there is simply to think. Think about life for yourself and think about what life is, what humanity is, and what truly has value. Realize that living under a bridge is not fun. That being hungry and cold is not done by choice. That poverty is not a way to "get something for nothing". Poverty is hell, rife with worries about simple survival, every single day of your life. That our system still has some tiny segment inside it that values human life and sends small checks to people who can't perform as the laborers of the elite is something to be grateful about. When the official opinion is that life has no value beyond labor, we will become mere commodities, for sale, for rent, and then we will die.
If it really irks you to think a penny of your tax dollar is going to sustain the life of another human being, then I ask you if you take pleasure in knowing over half your tax dollar goes straight to the pentagon to be used in creating endless ways to create death, destruction and suffering all over the world. Are you all right with the richest people and corporations in the world being given your tax dollars in large sums for corporate welfare? Which should bother you more? Directly helping to sustain the life of a fellow human being? Or funding the biggest death machine on earth? Or maybe giving your hard earned dollars for free, to the rich, who don't have any justifiable need for it, and who do not deserve it in any way?
Perhaps the mere act of caring about those who cannot participate will keep us in touch with our own humanity. Is it wrong to care about easing the suffering of our fellow man?
Or is it, in fact, wrong not to care?
